Poppa, you mentioned a price for a pair of HIDs.. at the risk of "startin' sumpin' " I'm a pretty big believer in 'you get wutcher pay for' but do you (anyone else jump in as well) have any idea why the 'trusted seller' I went to first wants $200 for a pair of these, shipped?

Hell(a) I don't even recognize the brand name, whaassup wi'dis?

thanks.

edit: always forget to mention that I am a proud member of the 'Blue & White' club (ext & int), I lust after your X - beige int me.. and..
is that Elsinore in the tiny pic? and Blu-White to boot?
If you ever decide to chuck ev'thing for a bit and get away from it all, can I come over and house sit? lol.
I'm sure that quality brands use better materials but also sometimes you pay for the name too. Their costs are probably higher for marketing, etc too.

Maybe these $10 bulbs I currently have will not last 3 years like my last $28 pair. However, I'm willing to take that risk. If you don't have time or the inclination to change bulbs more often then maybe you should go for the quality bulbs.

Thank you! I like blue and white too.

I'm having problems with PMs right now but if you're interested in more about the Mustang, and you don't have Facebook, here's a link.

gad, I can't believe I got that wrong.. brother had the '69cj R-code which was more our style (and 1 of 14 white int under black, lol.. no fan o' blue, he)

yeah, I'm obviously no fan o' swapping these bulbs, but uhmm.. 800 percent?
if anyone reading this has a set, I'd love to hear about life-span and any differences that you know of.

off to read..

SOOoo.. fishcake sent a pair of replacements (Simon is gone) and of course, they didn't fit - sent flange-less D2C to replace I Dunno what, as it wasn't listed on my invoice. Just know I need flanges on MY bulbs for MY depos bought from them (D2S, D2R?).

grrrr...

you guessed it, no response to emails now.. told stealer to just install what they had - all they had was 4K.. I cain't win..

ECS, if you read this - WHY are the bulbs so Much more expensive? I ordered your extra white hi-beams so I can live with the DRLs (back-ordered after I ordered them <sigh>), but couldn't find much on the difference between uhmm.. knock-off bulbs and O.M.G. name-brand bulbs.
Thanks for any guidance.

I had D2C bulbs instead of the D2S and they fit fine. I wouldn't think it would be different on the pre-facelift models.

Hmm, maybe the DEPO HLs are non-standard for some reason?

Here's a D2C I used (on the left) vs D2S (right).

Only difference is the D2C doesn't have the metal contact at the notch. D2C worked fine as is for me.

So, you're saying it won't work because of that metal contact being missing?

Also, they are keyed a little different but they SHOULD fit. You just need to rotate it to the proper notch. D2S (left with only 2 notches) vs D2C (right with MORE than 2 notches). Match the SQUARE notch.

Man, I Just dunno.. my nice stealer mechanic said that they 'couldn't' fit, and he has done very good work for me to date.. I had to take his word for it.

Decided to blow my birthday money and get the ones from ECS.

OUCH. hope they fit and last for-pharg'n EVER, heheh - this ♪ o-uh-nne head.. light ♫ shite is drivin' me nuts..

Hmm, I wouldn't just take his word for it. Ask him why it won't fit or ask him to demonstrate it.

I just don't like to see people lose money.

I agree wit'cha' but they're ferrying me to and from, etc. - only option was

a) can ya keep it in pieces, taking up a bay 'til I get there?

b) can ya' just leave the dead bulb OUT so I can see the difference? Lookin' at your pictures, the D2C that I have isn't quite the same, but close..

I just dunno. Get the 'REAL' ones installed ~ 8 Oct, hope for the best.
(they didn't charge me anything for trying, guessing that they Will, next time, so Really hope these are the Correct ones, ECS' Kyle thinks so)
