Sounds like rear brakes clunk when you step on the pedal abruptly

Hello there Xoutpost!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

First off, I have a 05 x5 4.4 I just bought it about a week ago. Its black on cinnamon or brown i cant figure out which, either way i prefer it to black on black. So far the only mods Ive done are LED smoked taillights, because I had the dreaded gremlins back ther. I got them from an EBAY dealer I saw from here. (formerly Zomkspeed forgot what there called now)

So there seems to be a problem with the rear brakes or at least thats where it seems the sound is coming from. Pretty much at any speed if I step on the brakes quickly it makes a weird clunk almost like the ABS might be kicking in just a little bit to easily. stops fine, doesnt do anything really out of the ordinary, other than the noise....

Any Ideas? Thanks in advance for any help it is appreciated.

Heres a little X5 porn for you all, 22" wheels from audiocityusa are supposed to show up today. WOOOT!

Welcome. Where is the interior shot? It's a nice rare color, inside.

As far as clunk. Have it get checked out on a lift. Lots of bushings back there. How many miles on car?

probably the same problem i have with my 4.8is, the front bushing in the lower swing arm on both side has ripped out. 350.00+/- per side :-(. You cannot get them by themselves, whole assembly.

Interesting Ill have to take it to my indie and see what he says, I dont think im qualified or have the tools to deal with bushings.

Anyone have a link to the instructions to turn off cold monitoring? Searched a bit but couldnt find anything in the way of instructions to do it.
