sorry, didnt grab it. i used to work at the dealer and all the parts guys are friends so they just pull stuff for me at employee pricing. when he showed me the parts fish and the pricing, i just said no and started research. i have found aftermarket companies selling just the pulley for $30 or the whole mechanical tensioner for around $50. I ALWAYS use oem, but they dont use it anymore. this original tensioner has 111,000 miles on it with no issues. for $50 vs. $300, i'd just as soon replace it every 50k miles?? the pulley seems to be ok but since its off i want to replace it. im thinking my only option here is aftermarket

btw, im not cheap. i dont mind spending $$ when needed, but i just dont think this is nescessary for a diy'er to replace with the hydraulic when then mechanical will work just fine.

Go to realoem.com and get the part number. Your search will go much faster, and easier. You will also see if it was superseded.

IIRC, Inpa is the original pulleys and I bought them for under $50 ea from FCP.

INA is the original manufacturer of the mechanical belt tensioner. BMW chose not to purchase this part from INA and instead has used the Hydraulic Tensioner Assembly.
INA still makes and sells this part. 11 28 1 427 252 $86.59 MSRP |

ok , so i need more help! i got the new tensioners installed with new belts and all went smooth. however, the noise im chasing is still there. its now intermittent and not as loud, but there. i started it after the job, noise there. reved it, noise gone. went for a 2 mile ride and it was perfect. purring like a kitty. turned it off, started it to move it and noise there. i was so sad. then, i went out for the eve and the noise never went away. i origianly attempted diagnosing said noise by removing belts and starting the motor. no noise. the serpentine tensioners are old and the idler makes alot of noise when i spin it so i replaced them both and all new belts. the noise sound sort of like a dry bering or fan rubbing? i didnt replace the a/c tensioner pulley but am going to, however its unlikely this is the issue cause it moves and sounds the way it chould. could it be the alternator though there is no elec. issue? water pump? i just did thermosatat, hoses and coolant and have no temp issues. the noise was constant and loud before this job. now its inter and quiter so it should still be belt drive related right? im not sure how to post a vid to have you guys hear it.
