I've been there once. It happened to me after the car was parked overnight with temp below zero. When I turned it up, it's just like you said, no bass AT ALL.
After driven about half an hour, warmed up, turned off and on again, everything returned normal. ![]() Quote:

I guess the bass membrane was frozen up in my case. Not sure yours.

I have the loss off bass-tones more (allmost every day) in winter en sometimes in summer. I had it twice this week in the morning and during the day. The temp is about 68F during the day and about 50-57F during nights.
Offcourse i can buy replacements but have no idea where to begin.. could it be the amp, tv-module,radiomodule, antenna signalbooster, nav-modules or even the headmonitor... or something else ... I have disconnected my faulty cd-changer and telephonemodule but it wasnt one of those because the loss of sound still exists....

My front L tweeter doesn't work 90% of time, jus makes that whitenoise, when it isn't making white noise it sounds perfect
When I turn voLume nob all the way down it stops, if I press nob in to turn system off the white noise stays I believe I have a amplifier problem, but my shyt is the DSP But u probly have same problem And the temp does nake a difference, when its hotter it has a better chance of working properly This also applys to my front L PDC sensor, lol

Lol, yes its weird that it seems temperature-related.
When i think about it, it also can be the soundsplitters for all the speakers... (there are 10 in my X, premium audio but no dsp). If they are located inside the amp..

I don't mean to highjack the thread but I also have an audio issue.
I just purchased my 2000 X5 that has the CD player hidden behind the flip up wall, the long control panel beneath it and the 6 cd changer in the trunk space. I turned it on for the first time testerday and it makes the loudest buzz sound. It reminds me of the aftermarket radios in the past that picked up the engine noise and you had to get the noise suppressor to reduce the whinning noise. This is a bit different though because the noise is constant and doesn't increas, decrease, get louder or reduce in sound. If I turn the voulume up or down, put in a cassette or turn the volume all the way off, the noise is exactly the same. the RPM's of the engine dosn't affect it either. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Mine is a DSP, today it was happyer than normal, front L tweeter was playing loud n clear for half the drive, started good, after my bro opened the passenger door the tweeter went to white noise mode
And it was 17 C today I think its the AMP Remember that if I turn the volume down all the way with the cd/radio on the white noise stops I dunno I'm livin wit it I guess

I think I've tracked down the source of the buzz to the amp.
I disconnected the radio and the buzz continued. I disconnected the cassette tape player and the buzz stopped. Most likely because the speaker wires run from the tape player, not the radio. I connected both back up and then disconnected the amp wires. The noise would only stop when the mail plug was disconnected. I'm assuming because that one must be the OUT TO SPEAKERS wires (including the power and ground wires as well.) In the picture below is the amp, mount just below the cd changer. I've circled the plug that makes the noise stop and have arrows pointing to the other 2 plugs. NOTE: unplugging the main plug not only stops the noise from buzzing but it also cuts off the amp so there is no sound from the radio or tape player as well.

And are you going to replace the amp or you go aftermarket?
