parking brakes replacement

My parking brakes suddenly went dead. I pull up the parking brakes and nothing happens, not even little resistance. I suspect the cable might have rusted and snapped.
How to change the parking brake cable?

Changing those cables is quite big job. I would first remove the lever cover and try to pull the cables. If they are snapped they should start coming out.

Cables rarely rarely go bad.

Usually the parking brake shoes deliminate with time.
