Passenger air bag light bypass

Hey all,

The pass airbag light has been on for awhile and I read a few places that if the air bag light is on then, none of the airbags will deploy... Is that true? Also, if I put the bypass plug BMW Bypass Airbag Light Occupancy Sensor Seat Mat E46E36E38E39E60E61E65M3M5Z3X5 | eBay , is it really going to get rid of the light? Has anyone tried it, and does the airbag still not deploy in an accident?

I know i'll probably get flamed for not doing the proper fix here..
Thanks

Why is it on in the first place? Have you had a code pulled from it? It may just be a loose connector.
