Might sound strange, but I'm not too picky on color for the 4.8is, seems like they only made them in "good" colors. Imola would be sweet...same as my M. For the 4.4, I don't want tan, white, gold, green...

I'll check out those links, see if there are any I haven't seen yet, thanks!

It amazes me how dumb people can be on Craigslist...sometimes I wish they'd charge $5 to list a car just to weed out some of the junk.

Amen to that man! I do most of my business on craigslist and wish they would charge to list cars. I have an arsenal of stories about the morons on craigslist. Its a moron magnet for sure.

I'd stay away, but that's just me. While you may not care about the title (salvage vs. clear), others might. Which is important to remember for resale. And judging from the history, it's entirely probable you'd end up selling it. The computer issues concern me, as it doesn't look like the issues were entirely put to rest before it started changing hands.

If the seller is hesitating with disclosure, that's also reason to stay back.

brentnclemson,

I've had 2 e36 M3's and 2 e46 M3's and two e36 M3 race cars (C-Mod and IS)
That said, you'll only miss the M3 when you want to do a track day/weekend. Do you track it at all?
I'm on my second e53 X5 4.4. I found my '02 last year with 108k miles for $13k. A lot of work had been completed on the vehicle and is in vgc...2 owners. The 2nd owner had owned the car since 25k miles. I really wanted either a 4.6is or 4.8is...but the price for this 4.4 w/sport was too good to pass up. That said, my next one will be an e53 4.8is. I miss the performance and appearance offered by the *is* models!

Anyway, you won't miss the M3 unless you're a track junkie!

Good luck with your search.
