Adjusting Headlight Aim Left Right

I'm trying to adjust the headlights on the X5. The auto level sytem seems to be OK. My problem is that the drivers side low beam is pointed off to the left quite a bit.

I assume that the inner headlight adjuster is supposed to adjust left/right. Is that correct?

On mine, it does not seem to do anything, except perhaps a little up/down. I'm guessing my adjusters are busted. Other than replacing the entire unit, are there any remedies for this?

If you have xenons, IIRC, the projector housing can come off its track or something like that. Maybe it can be adjusted out of range. Let me see if I can find the thread. I think this was on a 04-06 model though.

I can't remember which of the two adjustment screws adjusts up/down vs left/right.

Here you go. This might be a good read.

If this is your problem, maybe try to see if it can be re-attached without having to open up your headlights. Maybe through the back panel?

EDIT:
Here's another thread that's a good read about the link to the sensor but I don't think this is your problem.
