Wheel/Tire question

Hi guys it's been long time
sold the X and bought E60 530d sport, I will upload picks later

have a question, car has style 124Wheels on 18" but they are not wider on the rear, as it seems all of them are same size 8". I have fitted 245/40 18" on the front and was fitting 265/35 18" on the rears and thought would good as they are wider and will have more traction? anyway I want to ask will it mess up offest? Am I better off using original 245/40 18" on the rear too?

thanks

So just to be clear,
on 18"wheel 8"Diameter all around (rears are not wider) using 265/35 on the rear (20mm wider then front) would not harm offset and therefor will be better because of better traction...
