Ultimate facelift e53 angel Eye upgrade thread

Hello all, I recently picked up a 2005 x5 4.8is and off the bat i realized it is much different than my other three BMW's (328i, 330ci, 328is) ecpecially for visual upgrade options.

Im sure all would agree that Angel eyes are the trademark of a BMW. With that said we want them bright and noticeable.

So i've been searching all over the internet for pictures of angel eyes for the e53 x5 04-06 and all i can find are AE's for the pre-facelift model, or Ill find beautiful photos of some amazingly bright AE's and it turns out to be an entire head light assembly upgrade for almost 1k.

Every one on here has probably found out one way or another that the Angel eyes on the facelift model are ridiculously dim. even with an LED upgrade they are dim and almost completely un-noticeable during the day or night.

The question i have for users is, what kind of set up do you have on your facelift, and can you please post pictures.

I recently purchases the rdash setup and they are basicly a white version of my halogen AE's. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE. $80 dollars would be better spent towards a better set, what ever that is....

With the facelift models you are pretty much limited to just swapping out the AE bulbs for LEDs....
Unfortunately the poor daylight brightness (compared to modern BMW's) is the design of the optics and not simply fixed by swapping out the bulb.

In the coming weeks Ill be swapping my projectors out for some newer hella's, but also want to see if I can work something out with the AE as well.... I need to get them apart to see what Im up against first. Ill venture a guess and say its probably not going to be a project for the faint of heart though.
