Tire aging

How long do your tires last? Miles...Age ?
I just needed to replace 2 tires on our 06 (3.0), at 54,000 miles the Michelin XVS 4 PLUS that are dated 08 have "cracks" the tires have maybe 20,000 miles and still had fair tread.
I'll replace the other 2 next month....$$$$$...

When did you fit them since 08 ?

various factors involved, miles done, type of driving, heat and cold, long or short journeys, depends where you keep your car most of the time

i'v seen tyres with plenty tread all cracked up just cause they werent getting used

I purchased the 06 in Dec of 09 as a CPO, I doubt that the dealership put these expensive Michelins on, so they were probably installed by the previous owner (car had 30,000 miles at the time I bought it)
But 4 Years old and cracking?
The car is used every day and kept outside, mostly local driving with an occasional trip to Orlando.
I replaced the tires with YOKO AVID's because they are relatively inexpensive and TIRE RACK gave them a good (quiet) rating, $100 each less than the Michelins...
And I'm still trying to sell it or trade it up for an 09....then again this car has been so good that keeping it is another option, (more money for my Z3 restoration)

Not sure i wouldnt say 4 years was bad for a set of tires but i'v never owned the same car for that lenght of time, and the cars i have owned usually had the rubber transferred to the road fairly quick
Cant say i'v had that long out any tyres iv fitted
