TV Menu won't stay still
Love it! I've looked through this forum which has helped me sort out a few things like re-programming the keys, connecting my phone via Bluetooth, and I even think I've fixed the panoroof! Number plate light next - it was obviously working fine for the MOT a few days ago. One thing I can't find any help with is the TV. When I select 'Television' from the on screen menu, the TV menu scrolls across the screen right to left and is almost impossible to read. Following the list of menus in the handbook I've tried to re-scan the channels, at which point a message appears on the screen saying something along the lines of 'wait' or 'searching'. It eventually goes back to the previous menu which scrolls across across the screen. I'm pretty sure the problem is not with the head unit as the dealer changed it due to a pixel problem. All the other menu options work fine. Has anyone seen this problem before? I'm assuming as it's a 2005 model the tuner will be digital as well as analogue but don't know how to check. Many thanks for any help. Rgds |

Thanks.
No picture. The scanning message was on the screen for a while, when that finished it seemed to go back to the TV menu which scrolls across the screen and is virtually impossible to read. I'll have a fiddle with the tv module tomorrow. It shoud be under the spare tyre from what I've read. Rgds |

Yea by the battery, you have to remove battery cover tray. I too want to know if you have a digital tuner.

I found the tv module, no sign of anything loose there. I'm pretty sure it has digital and analogue. From what I've read, cars built after around Sept/Oct 2004 had digital added. Mine was built in Jan 2005 according to the label under the bonnet.
I've managed to read some of the menus despite the scrolling. The analogue option will not tune any channels, but we don't have an analogue signal anyway. I've managed to get into the digital menu, which says 'AV'. The digital menu doesn't scroll across the screen but does not find any channels. Rgds |

you need to figure in the scrolling f*cked text, which menu option gives you a country choice, then select UK, or PAL... there will almost every country available...
you are missing a sync signal - which is set in that menu (not really, but who cares to hear a lecture on TV standards?) |

Thanks for that.
I went through every option for TV Format, including England and PAL - EURO. There wasn't just a PAL option. No luck. A few times a blue menu appeared, but it was fairly random, and the same country wouldn't bring up the blue menu a second time. The only option against Program is AV. I've been back into the boot and this time disconnected all the cables to the tv module and reconnected them in an attempt to reboot the box. Again no luck. I'm inclined to think the tv module itself is knackered, but won't know without trying another box. |

Just spoken to the dealer I got the car from. He said his electronics man had it all working. (Maybe that's just what he told him!) Something about tv antenna connections near the cd changer and gps DVD box.
Any idea what the tv antenna looks like? I can't find any references online anywhere. Thanks again. |

two TV antennas are in the rear bumper... if this is a factory installation...
if the TV will not stabilize with different settings, the module might be defective... if a man says it was working in his hands, get his hands back into the system and have him stand by his words, or eat them.. lol... eat the words, i mean.. not eat the hands... lol... just kidding... |

Thanks. Yes that's what I'm going to do. He's not local but I'll be in his area in a couple of weeks.
Not sure how much I'll use the TV anyway, but if it's fitted I want it to work. Thanks again. Rgds |
