Dynavin or Hualigan in an E53 with DSP and Sirius

I have been doing some reading on here about the aftermarket Nav Units for the E53. I currently have a 2005 E53 with OEM MKIV Sat Nav, DSP, and Sirius Satellite Radio. I would like to replace the OEM unit and I am considering the Dynavin and Hualigan units because the have the look of the OEM unit and seem to have the most features. However, there seems to be confliciting information about whether or not you can retrofit these units into a system with DSP or not. Also, I can't find any information on whether or not you can still use your Sirius Satellite radio with these solutions. Will this basically be lost? Finally, will I lose OBC and MID functionality? I would appreciate any input.

I've researched this topic to death and I've come to the conclusion that there's no easy way to get around the DSP, notice I didn't say you can't, it just won't be easy. I have a 2002 X5, non-navi but with DSP, so it won't be easy for me either. I think the latest Dynavin unit actually gives you some, but not all of the OBC functions, look at their website at the screen shots they have posted.

DSP was a sound sytem option from BMW, it means Digital Signal Processor.

I installed an E39A Dynavin on my 2002 E53, I do not have DSP. E53's with the DSP audio system are not compatible. The DSP amplifier must be replaced with an aftermarket amplifier as it will not function with ANY aftermarket head unit including the Dynavin. I would say i am some what satisfied with this unit. One huge drawback is the glare on the unit during the day other then that have had to may problems with it. It took a while to install but it was mostly due to running the farka cable from the back to the front.

This guy did an install with DSP....

Thanks for all the input. It seems as if there is no solution to the DSP issue unless I replace it with a new amp. Does anyone have any input on the Sirius sat radio?

I had the Hualingan unit and recently sold it because I wanted satellite radio and it is not possible with this unit at all. The only way to listen is to either bluetooth stream it from your phone or to buy external satellite radio unit with tuner and use the aux cable to listen, but it will not be integrated with the hualingan unit. That was the main reason I sold it, I wanted HD radio and Sirius.
