Window tint question

I have always done my own window tint but this time I am only going to do my front windows to match. My daughter will be driving the car soon and i do not want it to be too dark.

Any idea if I need 35% or 20% to match it closely?

Thanks,

Shawn

when I did the tints on my X, I did 35 fronts, which is legal here in IL, and the guy measured my back ones and they were 33, so if you use 35 that would be almost the same.

I have 30% up front and it matches the factory tint level very well.

I have 35 up front too... I wouldn't go with anything darker if you are concerned about your daughter. Sometimes on really dark nights/locations, I have to roll down the window to see where I'm backing up with the exterior mirrors

Around here anything below 50% is illegal and 20% just gets you hassled by cops. 35% Still gives you a decent amount of tinting while still being (semi) visible from the outside.... Ive been running 35 since I got the X and have yet to be harassed about the tint.

You're an amateur too!

My E70 with 5% all around (on top of privacy glass) and 60% UV on the windshield (NOT recommended for OP's daughter or anyone who does a lot of nighttime driving!)

(Dirty pic)

Nah I stopped the 5% stuff about 10 years ago. It sort of pissed me off to have to open my windows when parallel parking in the city. I had to get my umbrella to park in the rain. I take it you don't drive much at night.
