Please Help! 04 X5 Bluetooth issue

Hi,
I am very new to this and I need someone's help if possible. I just got a '04 x5 with lots of options including NAV and it seems to have bloototh also. I look on top the CD changer/NAV rack and I can see the bluetooth antena and also next to spare I can see the bluetooth interface. It seem to be ULF. What I don't have is the pairing button on the center console. There is only a telephone support where you can insert a specific cell (possible for nokia) and the eject button to take it out. There is no way I can get see my bluetooth when I scan woth my phone. Also I was able to extract the bluetooth pairing code using toolset32.
Thanks,

I thought 04 models didn't have bluetooth per se. I thought it had the wiring or something but not fully implemented. I have an 04 but I never cared about the bluetooth so I never really researched it.

Let me dig into this. Now, I'm curious.

Twins, correct. No bluetooth in '04. TTGTR just went through this. You will have to either retrofit it, or use something like media bridge to get it.

I thought so but wasn't sure.

Here's a link that might help.

Thanks All,
Mine is an 2004. My question is why would I have the ULF unit installed and the antena above the NAV DVD rack? Also I have a BT code.... To mention my car is also having Assist.

I have a 2005 4.8is and the BT Module was NOT on the top rack...it was BURIED down below mounted sidways. I posted pics of where it was in THIS THREAD:

http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...ess-story.html

If you don't have the module here, you don't have bluetooth and should look at the BSW MediaBridge:

Yeah, OP was referring to antenna, not module. Got them mixed up. But you are right Joe. All '04 production and hafl way into 05 production did not have Bluetooth as an option. The bluetooth option you see is for BMW Assist w/ bluetooth. There was a TSB stating for all owners to ignore passcode since it did not apply.

4/04 and later E53 the TCU can be replaced and a Bluetooth retrofit coding can be performed for the vehicle to support Bluetooth hands-free calling.
