Fun little site..

Hey guys idk how many of you guys know about this but on this website 3Dtuning you can customize cars cosmetically, good thing about it is that alot of the parts are what you can actually buy from the manufactures listed like HAMMAN and such. Oh and BESt of all they have the E53

It is.. But it is kingpin money to have it done right. It would be WAY WAY cheaper to do the matte finish and stripe it with vinyl where you want the glossy.

I must confess though that I *still* don't understand the matte finish thing. I don't CARE if BMW came out and marketed it as 'frozen.' Just like a old school car guy cannot come to grips with orange peel on modern factory paint jobs, I think a car's finish should take in all the light it gets and make it fly right back out as bright as fire.

And black wheels, too. Just not my thing.

i've seen matte finish in moscow left and right, and to be honest, did not like it myself - first time i saw it, i thought that the car was in a fire and the guy just never bothered painting it... satin stripe idea, on the other hand, may have a merit of its own - like a shirt, it can be plain white or black, but when you have same color in satin stripe, it projects some class, like a pinstripe suits used to do...

black car vs any other car... there are parts on the car's body that are black plastic or other black material - those black pieces stick out on a white or any other car unless they are done in body color... on a black car those pieces are already black, like the rest of the car - so, having the tires follow the "shadowline" was a natural extension of the idea... that is my point of going black... some people "buick" the sh!t out of their rides with chrome...
that picture is a computer rendering, not an actual car...

Oh believe me, the problem is mine. I don't have a problem with anyone else's preferences. I just don't happen to be on the same page with some of the latest trends.

I have seen a couple dark colored grey and black X5's with a kinda cool smokey grey wheel. That's pretty cool. So far, it's only been some SUV's and some of the Detroit 'throwback' muscle cars that I have seen darker wheels on and liked.
