New Car - Couple of Questions

Hi Everyone - I just traded in my 325xi (e46) on a 2004 x5 3.0. Pretty excited. However, its freeezing cold, and I havent had a chance to play around with it too much, but I already have a couple of questions.

1. lets start with the most annoying one. I drove this car several times before buying it and never heard this noise. Hopefully on the video you can hear it. Its a high pitched squeek, I am guessing its the blower motor. I cant imagine why I am all the sudden hearing it. Perhaps something blew in there last night (I am not 100% sure it has a CAF installed currently).

2. Can you see my cluster? Does it look normal? The lighting is all different colors? Like the D is super bright, but the rest isnt... I've attached a picture showing it as well as a video i think.

3. I've got my owners manuals coming still, but is there a way to get the radio information to display on the cluster? I have a MID with a bunch of pixels out that I plan to send in to get replaced, but I would like it if I could see it on the cluster.

Thats it for now, I am going to do a full tuneup this weekend since I dont know how or when the last one is done. Oil/Air/CAF/Plugs and new o2 sensors since its about time. I'll save the tranny/dif/xfer for the spring.

I cant figure out these links, so just be a friend and click

All I've got is #2; looks normal. Whatever mode you are in (P,R,N,D) lights up brighter.

the cluster is weird. Its getting darker and lighter as a drive. I am starting to think there may be something wrong with the battery, the guy I bought it from made some comment about pulling it from another car as the one that was in there was no good anymore. I bet its either the wrong battery, or it hasnt been fully charged yet (I litterally have driven the car 15 miles in 2 days.) the cluster test shows a value below 12 when the car is off, but a solid 13.4 when its running. I need to disconnect the battery to install my media bridge, so I will check it out there and see whats going on. May throw it on a charger as well.

Turn the key to acc for 30 mins and run the radio with the car off. If there's not enough charge to start it after that then get a new battery

^It's a way to test the battery. Actually, you don't need the key. Push the knob to turn the radio on and it will play for about 20min then shut itself down to preserve battery.

Your heat blower motor is going bad. The good news is that the part is cheap...the bad news is that the whole dashboard has to be removed in order to replace it and that could be costly...
