I couldnt get them out of the holder to check them when I tried the other night (too freaking cold) so I will try them with a multimeter when I get home. based on some other threads I found, I ordered the entire assembly and new gaskets. Seems water gets in behind the board and corrodes it. When I pulled out the lenses, a) one was cracked, and b) there was definately moisture in there.

For whatever reason BMW sells the handle in primer and titan, so I got lucky I wont need to paint it. For 100 bucks, no big deal.
Can you point me in the direction of where these fuses are located and their numbers? My handle has never worked and only one light works on mine. TIA

they are in the glove box fuse holder.

SP0000012498 - WDS

this is the diagram that shows the connection in the lid handle. However, if you have both lights AND a the switch out, that lends more creedence to a bad board, as they share a ground.

the fuse for the LCM is 2,9, or 61 but 9 and 61 are the 5amp fuses.

the switch for the handle is something different and gets power from the GM5 through the central body electrics.

Turns out it was the entire 'grip' piece that needed to be changed out. works great now, even with my LED's. Came painted Titan, but its a strange paint job, its almost like there is not clearcoat on it. I am sure after a wax it will look normal, but now it looks a little off. oh well, for 100 bucks....

no, there are two part numbers, one for titan, and one for primer. this is definately titan, but its like there is not a clearcoat on it. I have some automotive clearcoat from a project on my 36, I may just hit it with one coat to put my mind at ease. or I may go wax the shit out of it and see if I can build up a nice gloss. At a distance you probably couldnt tell. The part was manufactured in April of 2012, so you also have a difference of 8 years on the paint.

I should also point out that there were several subtle differneces in the part, they must have redesigned them. a different gasket on the on plug area and a more shielded connector.
