FAKE... The stitching would maybe look good if it was half its size.

Side note: Holy heck! an S62 mated to a SMG trans!? So it can be done!

the cluster looks like it has the MPG gauge wher on the M (and the 4.6iS and 4.8iS) it should be the oil temp...

what is the VIN on this thing? it could have had some Individual options (still, this is not an M, even my 4.6iS had an M logo on the steering wheel), but in Europe you could get the Individual...

also, the gauge in erope should read km/h unless in UK (with steering on the right). this cluster reads MPH and km/h, which is a US cluster... and the stitching has a too big of a step - but nevertheless, whoever had done thins, had put some thought into it, the brake handle, the shifter boot, the alcantara on the steering wheel.... the dash is not in leather, no stitching on the main dash...

Yes, I know the V12 was the "LeMans." Now, the S62 SMG car is news to me - I'd never seen that before. Nice post.

Anyways, that S62 car is still like the LeMans - never produced - so I guess the point is moot and the conclusion remains the same: still no production M E53.

Could the interested party just post a VIN for everyone to check?
Just call up the guy and ask for the VIN. If the seller does not provide the VIN, you know you got some Chinese invention inside that X5!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped, no doubt in my mind now that its someones want to be M.

when the seller told me it was a 1 owner and they had taken delivery in Europe I knew it was bogus as I had already pulled a carfax and its 2 owners and no import.

Got to love people who make up stories just to sell.

Looking for an 04 or newer X5 3.0 with black interior
