Guys, what can rattle above glove box.
So I gave my giant friend a lift home. Dude is like 350lb and just under 7' tall. I had to slam on the brakes stupid hard at one point, and he smacked my dash with his knees. I don't know exactly where his huge ass pressed on my glove box, or dash, or whatever. But now I have a rattle somewhere behind the dash, above the glove box area.
-The rattle can be felt if I put my hand on the wood strip above the glove box. -Any pressure, on any part of the dash, even by the nav, will make the rattle stop. -If I give the dash a little love tap on that wooden strip, I hear something bounce off back there, and the rattle might go away for a bit. I am so pissed it is not even funny. Dude clearly does not fit into this car. It was funny to see him sitting in there. ![]() I took off the wood strip, nothing can be seen through it, and it still rattles. Help please. Where should I go through? Should I take out the glove box, any DIYs on that. Or should I remove the nav, and go through there. Thanks all in advance.

any cracks when you take the wood strip off? have you tried tightening up the screws under the wood trim, maybe something got ripped loose?

My dash rattle/tapping in that area was a wire that had come loose just to the left of the fuse box and drove me bat-shit crazy until I found it and secured it with a zip tie.

i find that tightening the screws helps with the door panels as well, time just rattles things loose.
if not, i'll bet a wire is tapping somewhere behind it, i think you can get the glovebox door off fairly easily, then just look up and see if anything is cracked or loose.

Take the glovebox out and go for a spin? Having it open may make it easier to pinpoint the location of where its coming from.
Open the glovebox, there is 4 screws along the header. One more on each side towards the front (where it hinges).... You have to pop the plastic pin out of the damper to get to them. Theres also 2 "plug" like pieces that hold the lower kick plate to the bottom of the glove box, just turn them 90 degrees. The box should wiggle out after that. Disconnect the light & flash light harness once you have enough room. ...Thats off the top of my head so forgive me, I cant recall if it was actually 4 or 6 screws on the header of the box...lol
