4x4 lit indicator with no fault after a power window repair

I have replaced the power window motor and the 4x4 led indicator lights up. The technician told me it will light off whenever you arrive home and restart your engine. Well it didn't. I have read that the steering sensor is causing the problem and that you just need to lock the driving wheel to reinitialize. I did that but didn't moved the car, just cranked it in place. Instruct me what to do. It was kept in place when repairing the window and the led comes up while in the same place. Do I need more few miles to get rid of the light?

Plenty of information on what to do if you search.

Turn on ignition, dont start car (however, sometimes I need to). Turn steering wheel all the way to left, then all the way to right and the light will go out.

This happens all the time the battery is disconnected for a while (I think > 30 mins).

The battery wasn't disconnected during repair, but the tech inserted the scanner for some coding including reset for the airbag light since he dismantled passenger door airbag during repair. he might forget to reset the 4x4 light.

Just an FYI; you can save a lot of time and hassle when changing a window regulator or doing other door repairs if you leave the airbag connected. Just unbolt it, pull off the foam liner, then bolt it back while you work.

Now what happened has happened. Do i have to get back to the dealer and reset the light using the scanner or there are other way. rb0135 solution didn't work, noting that I didn't move the car after trying the left right full wheel turn

If that reset didn't work and you tried it several times (with vehicle on and off, also try driving it for a bit after the reset - just in case), then you might just need to have the steering angle sensor RECALIBRATED. This is usually done at the dealer or a shop that has the proper equipment.

However, try the RESET several times just to make sure. Good luck.

Umm Ok.. I always disconnect the battery when working on stuff like that, especially when removing airbag units.

Did the tech find any codes, or did he just reset the Airbag Light?

Why dont you disconnect the battery now, leave it off for a few hours, then reconnect it and go through the procedure with the steering..

oh thanks. I talked to the mechanic. he said no problem just bring the car. It is caused by power interruption. since it is free and the mechanic is 3 miles away. I prefer doing this by the mechanic himself. Yes he just reset the airbag light
