When do I give the X5 a tuneup?

I have a 2006 x5 with 65k on it. She runs great but my question is when do I give her a tuneup?

Which engine? Either way, it's about time. Everyone has their preferences, but I like OEM ngk plugs, but I did try ngk iridiums. No complaints.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 3.0 engine, but i think you are right..it's time. She runs well but a bit sluggish and i'm sure the gas mileage will improve with the tuneup.

I did mine in an hour in the dark. Plugs, air filter and I did the o2 sensors because they are super easy.

O2 sensor, interesting? Where is it located and how much for the part? Is that part of the typical tune up?

O2 sensors are in the upper manifold. On amazon you can get them for 50 bucks each. Need a special socket. Recommend to replace between 90-110k mi. Since your new plugs should last 30-40k miles, I say do it now.
