Timing was way out (+ Question for the guru's)

Just finished checking the timing chain guides on the X and I decided not to replace them as they looked alright (saved myself a whole lot more work in getting the front cover off) Anyway this thing has been purring even with the timing way outside limits so fingers crossed it continues to purr after I "fixed" it.



Question for the gurus..........


This was the chain guide on the left side (which is what it supposed to look like)


And this is what is in the right hand side (I'm assuming this was maybe the original or maybe the wrong part has been put in......)
