yup the inner 'inner' course wouldn't stay or pop out towards direction of wheel, to be honest if he protruding clip doesn't damage the boot i am not bothered...but pain in the butt having to get under there and look at it each time i take a long drive

no worries stevekat took a look under there after putting quite a few miles on x5 and there seems to be no damage or wear to boot my clip at all, and that's IF the clip touches the boot at all whilst driving

well here is an update, 4 months after first outer boot was replaced with this compressed looking one there is no wear or tear where clip maybe touchng rubber boot, also the other side went too yesterday, but must confess mechanic I took it to this time, had it off in 30mins! he didnt even take rotors off, not sure how long it took him to replace as I had to leave garage, still seems pretty crap that at 50000miles the boots go, my 190merc had 130k miles on clock and boots were replaced once hmmm anyway thanks to all
