rear wiper replacement for 61627074477

Having trouble finding a proper fitting rear wiper replacement for a 2000 X5 E53 4.4i

If I search on the part number. I can find one made in German.
Do i really need an OEM wiper blade from Germany?

I tried a bosch excel and an bosch icon 18b: both did not fit on the arm...

The last wiper I had installed flew off while driving down the highway - I do not recall what type it was.

I was told the 18B and the 418b are same. I did not try the 418b because the 18b did not fit. Store did not have 418b.

Cannot find fitment info on Bosch web site, rear is not listed!

RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 4.4i SINGLE PARTS FOR REAR WINDOW WIPER

the arm
is not a hook
is not a pin

arm appears to accept a pin

Is there a common rear wiper that fits, or do a need a dealer/oem part?

Should I just get a new arm with a standard hook?

Never had so much trouble over a wiper blade......

Thanks

Have you actually gone to a store and looked up the mfg part nbr in the books they have on the aisle? After reading that BMW is putting the rubber refill blades on the NLA (no longer available) list...while walking around a local Walmart...I stopped in the wiper blade aisle to see what my future costs would look like.

I remember that the not all of the brands that were being sold offered a replacement blade for the rear. They all had front wiper blades...but some only offered rear.

Not sure where you've looked...but you may be successful physically checking out a "brick and mortar" store to see what brands they offer and what is actually in the catalogs they have on the wiper blade aisle.

EDIT: just did a quick online check using Autozone...and they only have front wiper blades listed for BOSCH refill blades...but they do offer other brands that have front & rear. Click the following link for a list of blade refills sold by Autozone for a 2000 X5 4.4i: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...lade/_/N-8gcw1

One thing to mention if changing out for "beam blades". They tend to run long. On my 2003 4.6is I found I had to go down to a 17". This is with Trico Force and a Trico Flex. When compared to my original the blades were all 18" but the beam body extends about 1/2" longer. This caused it to just barely tap the 3rd brake light and lift the wiper momentarily.
I ended going with the Flex model because it's airfoil will work in both directions and the rear wiper travels 180 degrees.
