Crank Delay
I have a 2003 X5 3.0d. Recently i have noticed that the car is taking longer to startup during cranking. It will take around 4-5 seconds to startup when before it used to be very quick. I know from the previous owner that the battery was changed around 2 years ago. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks, Tommy |

Are you up to date on your maintenance? Fuel filter replaced? How much mileage is on the X? Could be a failing fuel pump that requires additional time to pump up the fuel rails and injectors.

Full service done a few months ago. Mileage on the car is 90,000km.

Being that you have a diesel, maybe your glow plugs are starting to go...
Just throwing out a potential culprit but I honestly have no idea. Let us know when you figure it out!
