I have an elm 323 obd2 USB lead .it is not communicating with the carsoft software on my laptop. Windows 7 . Can someone give me a screnshot of the port settings as originally approx 3 years ago this setup was working,

I don't believe carsoft is compatible with the ELM interface. It has its own. You may try eBay check for a better product like BMW scanner 1.4.
