would these work? has the clear glass bulb like stock so hoping they would project "backwards" better than the bulbs the OP listed

I don't see why they wouldn't work. The 5W Cree should have some good light output.

I need to measure the opening to make sure the bulbs would fit but those have the glass like stock bulbs so I'm hoping they would look good backing out.

i sent a pm to patrickkc as well who posted he has the 25w LEDs in his reverse and they are brightest on the market so i'm hoping he can get us some pics.

right now i have stealth coated ultra white bulbs, so the combo of the silver coating and the blue coating to give the ultra white bulbs makes them uber dim compared to stock. those LEDs you originally had probably give off more light!

I can measure the opening in the reflector with a caliper/micrometer for you when I'm at work tomorrow.

I'm thinking those 25W Projectors are gonna be very bright and nice. I do hope he posts up pics too.

I know what you mean about the stealth bulbs diminishing the light output. Any time you coat that glass its going to cut down that lumen output.

Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to post about the led reverse lights I have.

I checked them again and they're actually 20w, and not 25w. There are 25w ones now but I haven't ordered any to test yet.

So before I was running the 20W projector leds, I was running 7.5w projector leds. These projector leds don't really work too well with our X, because of the bulb placement. Unlike other cars, our bulbs are actually side ways, and as some of you have researched already, the proectors are at the end of the LED, which in our case, shoots the light diagonally instead of shinning out of the housing.

First the 7.5w projector LEDs,

These are bright, because they have led light coming out from the side as well. They are different than traditional projector leds, which only shine light out from the top. These work quite well, but because of the yellowish light the stock bulbs emit, I do believe the stock bulbs light up more.

The 20w projector LEDS are pretty much the same design.

except, it uses cree led on the side as well. This is supposedly brighter, but to be honest, I don't see too much of a difference compared to the 7.5w projector led.

It's a shame that our light bulbs has to be put in sideways, or else having projector leds will be definitely much brighter than the conventional halogen bulb.

Here are some pictures i just took. I will try to have some better pictures this week and try to answer most of the questions. I'm sick and medication is making me insanely drowsy.

also, all the lights at the back are 7.5w Projector LEDs (brake, turn signals, rear drl).

Patrick thanks for the pics, those look great! I'm going on ebay to see what I can find, and also waiting for Lexicon at his convenience to measure the opening with a micrometer, I might be the guy who tests the 25w ones out or at least getting the same kind you have.

no problem Ricky. If you do try the 25w, please post pictures. There are newer versions of the projector leds which also have projectors on the side as well. If we can have the projector pointing straight after we screw in the bulb, that will allow more light to shine straight out of the housing..

since they have the clear glass to emit light 360 degrees like a stock bulb, but now I also may just get the Version 2 of the solaris invisibulbs which are supposed to be 2x brighter than what I have now. not sure as of yet.

It does have the clear glass, but the position of the cree led, the light will still be very directional. Which ever ones you get, please post a few shots after you get them!!

Thanks for posting up those picks Patrick they look nice and bright.

It looks like an effective design for this application for the diodes on all 5 sides so it can fill that reflector with light instead of just one diode sending the light output in one direction only.

"This may be something to consider Ricky. That's why I went with an omni directional option with Diodes on 5 sides."
