Can I ignore an error message that shows up once and then never appears again?

Two days ago I had the "Self leveling suspension inactive" warning show up on my console. I checked all the relevant fuses and they seemed to be okay.

I've seen some other examples of this problem on youTube and my vehicle hasn't collapsed in any way. The rear *might* be slightly lower, but that could just be my mind freaking out and playing tricks on me.

The error hasn't shown up since, and the drive seems normal.

So my question is: do error messages come and go like that? Or should I be sending it to a professional ASAP?

Thanks for any help in advance.

that particular message can be ignored, if there are no other symptoms, such as sagging one side of the car, or overly aggressive compressor pumping non-stop and the ride is too harsh. sometimes electronics are waking up off a wrong foot, and having the car restart may resolve the issue... if the issue keeps coming up and coming up, it might be time to replace the EHC (or EHC2) module, it is located in the trunk, next to the battery.

post the details about your ride, it is hard to determine what problem there is when there are no details...

And welcome to the forum!!!

I agree. that particular message has popped up for me a couple of times after letting my car warm up for longer than 20 mins in the morning. I restart the car and never see it again. I wouldn't be too concerned with it unless it starts happening more frequent.

Could be anything. Don't bother with it unless it comes back. I get trans fail safe every time I rundown my battery. I get SLS error like you every time I code the LCM in the car. Our cars are sensitive like that.

Hey, thanks to everyone.

A further development today: I was cleaning out the car and realised that I had left the headlights on while I was listening to the radio (for about an hour). I tried to turn the ignition, but the only thing that happened was a clicking sound. I'm assuming my battery was in pretty poor shape initially, and the lights wore it down to empty. I now get the trans fail safe message.

Going to get a new battery, and hopefully that's what caused the error before.

Thanks again guys/gals.
