Please Help me figure out what this means......!!!!!

I have an '03 X-5 4.4i with 118k miles. The LED pixels have started to go which is adding to this problem.

Anyway - I have a warning sensor that is popping onto the dashboard but I can't read all of it.

It says, "CHECK ????LATE LIGHT". I was assuming that it was the license plate lights so I replaced both of those bulbs (replaced with Halogen bulbs). That didn't fix the sensor.

The brake lights, head lights, turn lights all work. What else could it be?

Thanks,

i think there is a BIG mothership server, to which ALL X5s are connected - and when something happens, a lot of them suffer from the same symptoms at the same time!!!

Oh boy. So this afternoon I went out to lunch. As I pulled in and turned off the X5 my dashboard sensor went crazy cycling through a list of "lights" that needed to be checked.

I checked all of the lights and they were all in working order, including the license plate lights.

I went in and had lunch.

An hour or so later I went back to my X5 and started it up. I expected to hear the chime of the dashboard sensor. No chime.

I ran an errand.

Upon returning to the X5 and starting it back up I expected to hear the chime.

No chime. Seriously, wtf? Is going on with this X5?

Mine doesn't do that any more because the newest software has a firewall installed which doesn't allow access from outside. I would strongly recommend to update.

Take care.

Yup I concur! My inner passenger side and outer drivers side angel eye decided to turn off for an unknown reason.....couldn't duplicate it, and hasn't done it since!

seriously, check your battery. If this was an e46, all your base would belong to us. err...all of your issues would be battery related. BMW's start acting pretty stupid well before the battery actually dies.

use the cluster test to see what your voltage is both on and off.

or just replace battery if old.

As jgold stated, check the battery. Your car is slowly telling you that something is up with your voltage. Either battery or alternator.
