little update - there's a guy who will convert his 4.8is into manual and we cooperate. Maybe there will be a 4.8is manual conversion kit after all.

That's quite a conversion you did there sir. Hats off
Extremely interested! Keep us posted. If this indeed comes through, you can count me in for one kit for sure!

As soon as we get a N62-powered X5 into our hands the conversion will be done - it's just the matter of readiness of the owner.

If you are keeping a list of people interested in a 4.8is kit please put me on it.

I am very seriously considering the swap and would gladly pay for a bolt-in kit.

The biggest problem is that the 6-speed manuals are very rare as used spare parts - that's the reason I made a suggestion for everyone who wants a high power E53 with 6-speed manual, to buy a factory made X5 with 6-speed and swap the engine, otherwise you can't rely on constant supply of used gearboxes for conversion.

Nevertheless I'll buy up the 6-speed manual I can find in Europe and will convert them to fit to N62 and sell for straight bolt-on application. The ECU adaptation will be made on-site.
