Pixel Repair

Anyone tried the 'bimmeronly' pixel repair service offered on eBay? (bimmeronly.com)? the cluster on my 02 X5 is kaput.

No, but I did try to repair myself using the DIY available online..... I got about 90% of the pixels back on the MID. When I get tired enough of the missing ones, I will send it off to one of those guys. I have heard good things about the german auto seller that does pixel repair on ebay, IIRC they are about the same price.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
there are a few sellers on ebay, "euro electric" is in TN and his name is Dave, really professional and does free return shipping if you send UPS. "bimmeronly" and "german audio tech" are in CA and I am electing not to use them because of the extra transit time, but they look to have great feedback so if I was in UT I wouldn't hesitate to use either of those sellers.

Most all of them are around the 150-160 mark for the repair, which with a warranty on the service is a great price to have it fixed, considering years ago it was 3-400 or you had the other option to get the cluster replaced.

Good luck with your fix! I'm looking forward to sending mine out soon, need to do my wheel bearings first though.

I tried the repair myself with new ribbon. Tedious work but doable.

Do you have an address for 'IIRC'? I did a search on eBay but wasn't able to track them down. TIA
