Yes, I will get some help from dad to do the center console, and do it the right way.
It looks a lot more modern than ugly cracked wood. All I'm missing is the upgraded E70 shift knob and a push to start button to complete the look.

Everything looks real good man. but I gotta be honest I have never heard anybody with those issues. I have PD'd alot of stuff on alot of cars and never ran into a spray can splattering at all. As far as uneven thats just a flawed technique to be honest.

dude regarding the shift knob, iv heard alot of negative feedback regarding it. the biggest one is regarding the look. on the e70 it doesnt have much height so the gearknob looks in place but with the e53 because there is a bit of height to the gear knob it looks clunky and high.

But this is just what iv heard, so it will all be down to opinion.

Also remember Di-noc is very forgiving. if you've stuck it down all it needs is heat and perserverance and youl be on the right track

I DI-NOCd my interior last winter and it still looks great. I wouldn't do the center without removing the console. It's too complicated to do correctly while it's in the vehicle. It's a PITA to take the console out but the results are well worth it and since the film is wrapped completely under all of the edges, it can't peel up.

You can do it with one piece but it's pretty hard. It took me two tries and even then there are two "little" mistakes that I let slide because I didn't feel like re-wrapping a third time. Use plenty of heat and don't stretch it too far. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube on how to do it... I'd watch a bunch before doing it... here's one from Bimian showing how to wrap the e53 steering wheel trim: Bimmian.com 3M DI-NOC - Carbon Fiber Wrap - YouTube

Thanks! I found that the PD must be kept at room temperature and lid on when not in use for proper spray. than its perfect. I put 3 coats on handles and will do the badges to.

Yea, I would love a suede shift knob. Those match the CF.
And its forgiving but mess-up costs money, I like perfection, more time consuming but do once and do right.

Thanks. I wanted to take it apart but it was hard. Do you know if there's a way to take off only the wood trim?
