so many views and no reply - nobody has anything to say... i have nothing to say, but i am just writing to let you know, that we are alive here... lol...
your issue might be a bad module... could be a loose wire... just the usual electrical culprits... maybe someone has a better idea... ohh... and while it is not that imperative on this particular problem, it is helpful when you list the specs of your ride, like the year, model (E53, E70 - even though it is posted in e53 board, it could be anything, even an e36), miles, when you have maintenance questions... welcome to the board... I am sure, someone will eventually help you out... |

Yup, do some digging. Then let us know what you find. Then we might be able to help.

according to Bentley manual from what you describe the part that is not working is called the 'Memory Switch'. It appears from my non-technical expertise that it can be non-functional and the other parts may work, again as you have explained. I searched on realoem for the part to no avail, you may have better luck. This may be one instance where going to a wreck yard for the part may save significant $$. Also, I would advise picking up your favorite manual ( i like bentley others may have different opinions) before you go ahead and rip out the seat. It looks as though it is much more complex than pulling out the switch in that you have to actually take out the whole seat to get at the switch? Others may chime in with their experiences... In any event, there are A LOT more parts than meet the eye when it comes to the seat. But the memory switch appears to be the culprit.
