New User - Welcome Post

Hi everybody!
I'm Steve, from just outside Portland, OR in the USA. I recently received a hand me down X5 from my sister, she received it from my Dad a few years ago who was the first owner. It's in fantastic shape, 2004 4.4L about the only option is the DSP button on the radio I think...

I look forward to learning how to take care of this ride just like I maintain my other toys. I've already changed the oil with Castol Synthetic, got a little sticker shock with two cases of that stuff! It was the easiest oil change ever, I don't know why anybody wouldn't do it themselves.

Little more about me, I've been active on a forum for K5 Blazers for a while, I've got two and they have both been heavily modified.

If anybody has read this far and would like to point me towards the thread for hooking up an aftermarket stereo I'd appreciate it.

Plan is to run a double-din HU and whatever else is necessary to get rid of the factory stereo.

Cheers!

Welcome. Let's see some pics.

Stereo... adding a sub to the factory setup can be easy/effective. Otherwise the BSW kits are a good bet.

Thanks for the fast welcome guys!

Only pictures I have are of my K5's at the moment... The red one is a 1970, hence the screen name.... Black is an 89 with a full vert conversion.

Welcome, those are some sick trucks. First reaction when you said "hand me down from sister" was uh oh... Glad it's still in good shape. I have an 04 4.4 also, great car.

As for the radio, many members like to keep the stock radio in the glove compartment to keep functionality of the on board computer (mpg, time, etc under the odometer) I'd look into that option.

Happy modding!
