Introducing Myself - 2003 E53 4.6is Imola/Alcantara

Gentlemen,

I picked up this 2003 4.6is (June, '03 build) in Philly with 117k miles on it from a dealer/enthusiast. I always wanted this color combo (actually I wanted Estoril more but couldn't find one this clean), and I got this one for $14.5k.

Anyway, so far so good. No major issues, just a bunch of parts I needed to buy to make it perfect. I added the running boards and euro front fender flares that seem to be pretty rare in the US. Got them cheap and installed them.

Looking forward to getting your advice as the inevitable problems come along! I'm now at 120k miles.

Lastly, can someone in the New York City area recommend an amazing indy? BMW Manhattan sucks IMO. Need someone meticulous!

Thanks

Imola is soooo nice. The running boards really pop. Looks really clean, I think you did well. Best of luck!

Congrats on your purchase. Love that color. I have the same color with cream leather interior. The running board you installed, its an oem part or aftermarket board that attached to the stock running board? Thanx

All OEM. It's just that most people use the pieces that come in the box with the running boards which don't flare (for 4.4 and 3.0). I spent an extra $600 or so for all four flares. Most people do the back flares but not the fronts. The fronts took a few weeks as they had to be shipped from Germany. Let me know if you want part numbers.

Thank you for the response. My wife has the running board on her E70 and I hate how the running board hits the back of your leg when getting in and out of the truck. I may be going after the aftermarket piece just to enhance the look of the truck.
