help mystery ???????

has anyone got a idea why this has happened, i replaced the rear toe arms on the x today, started driver side jacked up done job wheel back on of the jack same on the other side, all done job perfect got in and drove it and the steering wheel is of center nearly quarter a turn to the right ?? wtf, iv not touched the front done the rear anyone have a idea, i bloody hope so front wheels still seem to be tracking straight just the steering wheel of center ??

Sounds like you're dog-tracking.

You need a 4'wheel alignment done to fix this.

thanks for the reply but my steering wheel was perfectly straight before i jacked the rear of my x up i dont understand wats happened

You changed your rear end alignment when you replaced the toe arms. Toe, camber and caster... change one and the others are effected too.

What happened is you shifted the alignment on one of these figures and now to maintain a straight trajectory you have to turn your steering wheel slightly to compensate.

You need to have a 4wheel alignment.

If you have somebody else drive your X and you follow it you will see that it is no longer driving straight, the rear end will be following a slightly different track than the front and it will be off to one side. That issue is called dog-tracking.

wow thanks pal, i would never of thought of that, i will get it in and sort it , i just need to get hold of a new toe bolt do you think dealer will be able to order me one, i had to cut the old one of the alloy bush spacer had mated to the bolt it was impossible to remove,
