I need to get a code reader on it...The SES light is not illuminated anymore, but it should be stored.

Me, as long as the SES light (or any warning light) does not stay on, I would not worry about it.

I occassionally get the intermediate levers symptons on very cold mornings and just accept that it will happen. Usually, I can just turn off and re-start.

If, however, you're in a region where its very cold most of the time, here are two posts from killcrapconcerning that. People certainly may not like it or agree.

Well since it hasnt happened since, i'm going to let it slide for now, and call it a random occurrence.

as far as BMW warranty, isnt it typically 2 years on all their repairs? So, at the almost 3 year mark here, i'm pretty much shit out of luck if it does become a bigger problem..right?

Some scanner allows you to view pending fault codes. Codes such as misfires will not set off a SES until x amount of misfires has been counted by the ECU.
