V1 install...

So today I hardwired my v1, it was a piece of cake... The only mod I have ever done before that, was installing the icelink. I have always relied on professional installer on all of my previous cars, this Forum has really helped me with my confidence as well as demystifying the X5. I have pretty much followed Chris F. instructions (thank you Chris). I did made a few changes here and there, but most of it was the same. I haven't installed the stealth unit yet, as it's getting too dark. I will try to do it tomorrow. I guess all I need to do is to figure out how to run a cable from the garage opener unit to the ashtray. I will post picts and explanations once it's all done.

Hope you guys are having a good weekend.

Glad to hear that the experise we have here is giving you the confidence to tackle these on your own

I've always found that the mods I do with my own two hands are the ones I appreciate the most

Now that you've mastered the V1 install and have a bit more confidence, you may also want to consider this before installing your stealth unit - it's even more stealthy and versatile than the V1 stealth unit, and I'd say it's probably no more difficult to install. I've had mine for more than a year now - love it!
