Anyone how to check if the reflector inside the headlight is corroded?
So since I've gotten this beast, I've noticed the headlights aren't very bright. When it shines down the road, it doesn't seem like it illuminates very far. For some reason, I think my Audi and the TL were much brighter. Now from my understanding, after approx 2K hours of use, the charge within the bulbs is only 50% effective. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
I read on here that some experienced a corroded reflector within the assembly that deteriorates the light output. I am wondering if there is a way to check it. I mean can you just remove the headlight and pull the bulbs out and look, or does the lens need to be removed to expose the reflector? I mean I don;t mind getting new bulbs, but some people also said that replacing it did nothing. SO I am not sure if it is something internally within the light housing, or is the hardware not producing enough voltage to vaporize the salts within the bulb to get the bulb to temp and produce max light output. All answers are welcome.
