Update :

Ended up replacing the Top Latch Mechanism, paid 250 (Discounted Part at dealer and no Labor Charged) they good willed it was in amonth back for Rear Air suspension bag change and soft close was working then and soon after failed.

I got the same issue but just cannot hear any sounds when either using the key or the soft touch on the trunk, so where is this relay exactly? i pulled re-inserted all central locking related fuses but didnt see one specifically for soft close....
