Help identifying some small trim parts via RealOEM
And my RealOEM-fu is not that strong on these 2 parts: #1 is a piece of foam that goes around the Operating Rod (door lock). #2 are the white "buttons" that hold down a peice of door trim (long black strip on the outer edges of the door). ![]() Can anyone here help me figure out what the part numbers for these peices are? Realistically, I could dummy up a foam piece and I could glue down the black strip, but since I'm in the process of ordering door trim pieces, I'd like to make the doors as "complete" as possible, if the parts are available to me. Thanks! |

The white buttons might be available through an auto body/trim supply shop. BMW Clips And Fasteners is a good source for odd bits for older Bavarians, and might have something to fit as well.
You might be better off going to the dealer for some of that stuff; incidentals like that don't tend to be very expensive through them, and it seems they have less trouble tracking them down.

two types, usually priced the same, i prefer the second part number... get a dozen or two - they are cheap, and break easily...

The button that I'm looking for is actually different. It holds a long black trim piece to the door frame that is not part of the door pannel. The long black trim piece works almost like a gasket or an anti-rattle piece so that the door pannel doesn't hit metal on the outer edge. |

That's the right diagram, thanks! Couldn't find that for the life of me. Didn't think of it as an "exterior" piece.
However, it looks like it is item 15 in the diagram, but the PN for item 15 isn't listed. RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 4.4i Exterior covers / door front |

Pop one out and take with you to any body shop supply house...napa/cmax may even have them.
