Could not get AUX kit for my car .... :( - Now going Aftermarket HU!!!

Hi all

I just can't believe that i could not find AUX input kit for my car. Its a 2002 Aug built with 16:9 screen and DSP.

What the heck did BMW do to it?

I've contact many of my suppliers in Europe like ..... Dension, Connect2, ACV ..... and no one has any solution for me beside from these crappy FM MODULATOR that i hate with a passion.

The company that i work for here in Aust represent many well known Global Car Audio like Philip, Nakamichi ..... i could have any latest head-unit fitted but i prefer factory option.

Do i really have no other option but to install an aftermarket HU?

Cheers

What's wrong with getting a new unit? You'd obviously benefit from tech that's a decade newer. Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't working in the industry, and having access to the latest stuff sweeten the deal even more? I say take the time, plan everything out and do it right....you'll end up with something much more enjoyable.

Yes it does. I had iPhone 4, 4s and 5 connected without a problem.

The problem is the DSP system, BMW doesn't make an AUX for the DSP, just for the plain system. Most aftermarket doesn't make a system that can be used with the DSP system, you will have to rewire everything if you want to use a non BMW DSP unit.

The Dice Mediabridge also works with the factory DSP with an optional $70 module

I almost sound like a vendor. After a quick research online, Dice was the best pick. I just bought 2 for the X and my other car. Lets see how it goes...

Talk to GROM Audio. They will have the solution you need. You can also get their Bluetooth Module. You need the DSP converter too.

GROM also had good reviews, but the people who chose DICE seem to happier.

I also like the all-included aspect of the mediabridge (USB, harness, microphone) all included rather than the piece-meal aspect of the Grom
