3 NEW quick questions.

Hey guys

1-Is there a way to change the language of the navigation lady?

2-Possible to code the xdrive in a way that it would send all the power to just the rear wheels? and be able to code it back

3- So my car almost caught fire..... Well i was siting waiting for a friend and start smelling some burning, i smelled this earlier in the week and thought it was just some oil burning since i dont have my cabin filter assembly in /lazy. but this time it kept getting stronger and i knew something was wrong, turn car off, and feel my but get hotter than usuall. Yep it was my seat heater and it burned a nice small black spot in my seat.

Any way to fix the heating element? maybe cut out a part of it and somehow mend it. Its the side of the bottom coushin.

Спасибо

1. my nav lady in 4.6 iS used to speak in russian...
2. not sure it is possible, as something like that would require multiple entries to be changed and still be in sync - once you change them, the results may be less than desirable... why do you want that anyways?
3 get yourself OE or Gloria 1kg fire extinguisher - it will not stop burning oil field in Iraq but will cut the real fire in the seat...

There's an old thread on this forum that discusses the heated seat issues that have resulted in "burn-thrus". Got pics and everything. I don't remember the actual outcome...but if memory serves me correct, I think the whole heated seat pad will need to be replaced.

Some may have gotten some help from BMW NA (call the toll free customer service number)...but that may have been with e53s that were near the end or just out of warranty. But again, call the 800 customer service number if you got a burn thru...nothing ventured, nothing gained. All they can say is yes, they will help, or no...you're out of warranty, or...we can offer you a partial "goodwill" towards the repair.
