I'd try to find something a bit wider, otherwise they're going to look like wagon wheels.

first off welcome and hope you enjoy the forum. the search function is phenomenal on this site and please read as much as you can, chances are your question might be active in another thread or answered over the course of the last 8 years or so that this site has been live.

If you are looking at 20" wheels, in staggered the OE sizes are 20x9.5 in the front, ET45 and 20x10.5 in the rear, ET30.

Some members have went with a square setup all around, however most of us desire the factory staggered look and setup that BMW equips the vehicles with from the factory.

There is a great wheel/tire thread in one of the other sections of the forum that showcases many pages of members rides and the different wheel/tire setups they have.

Anywhere from 9.5"+ front and 10.5"+ rear, as those were factory widths. Mine are 20x10F & 20x11R, and they come just about flush to the fender.

Buy rims that have the correct hub bore, as our X uses the hub to center the rim. Not all BMW rims are the same. E70 and E39 rims have a larger hub than an E53. Some aftermarket wheel manufacturer will bore the hub to the larger diameter so that they can sell the same rim to a larger audience.

Buy rims with the WRONG hub bore and the next post will be Why is my car shaking at speed?

20 X 8 sounds like you are getting those cheap ugly looking chrome black people "rims". Do not do that
