2004 SAT Nav MK4 V.32 vs. 2001 TV tuner
Is there any special firmware update on the TV tuner? I also noticed some horizontal black lines, rolling steadily upwards on the display when the TV tuner is attached, anyone seen this before? I have searched the forum but I have not found any answers….

check your wiring harness - you might have a broken wire somewhere - when TV is running the GUI, the GPS Navigation is not an option... I am not aware of the TV firmware update, even though i am sure it is possible...
check the harness for breaks or chafed wires... |

Thank you for your reply TerminatorX5.
I can only get power to the navigation using the left side of the socket in the rear, nothing on the right side. But as you also will notice there are 3 wires on the TV tuners harness and only 2 pins in the socket. The harness is marked '01 - is there any difference here from the model year '04 and '01? Seems strange as they do use the same equipment for the navigation etc. |

my TV module is set up with a harness going from the TV modules blue and white plugs to blue plug on the Nav - the Nav was "plugged" in-line with the TV module... the brown middle wire on the white pin could be a ground - can you test it with a multimeter to see if it is a ground wire?
there also should be a set of wires going from the TV to the Nav - in my case, the TV was a retrofit and not the original part of the car harness, so mine might be slightly different... if you look at the TV module pinout, you will see that there some wires that are wired to Nav unit - some of them might be chaffed... |

I can triple check that but again it's in the middle of the night, nothing is plug and play, as usual
