Door Lock Cylinder Barrel Repair - DIY

Can someone point me to a good DIY write up for changing/repairing the door lock cylinder barrel?

having the same problem.
when you put the key in the hole and turn, it doesnt work (drivers side)
and the lock indicator doesnt move up and down but the door works and locks on both side.
now need to replace since you cant diy the part ( door Actuator)
3 bolts hold it on the side, inside you have the outdoor carieer and the connection under. thats it really.

Here's a diagram and links to the part nbr index for the parts that alex77ae described in his post above:

BTW, I used my 06 X5 4.4 to pull up the diagram since you have no signature with model/model year/build date info...nor does it appear in the upper right of your posts. No vehicle info makes it more difficult for others to help you better...so really consider adding vehicle info...it helps us to help you better.

I am referring to the X5 E53 model. Still looking to find good DIY write ups or videos how to install the door lock repair kit.
