leaking washer fluid

Whenever I fill up the washer fluid, it leaks back to this level and I'm having trouble locating where it's leaking. Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Are you referring to the main plastic container part or the pump itself only?

The pump. It's a simple plug in job.

I had one that was leaking and I took it out and noticed there was a small square inspection hole at the shaft end of pump that had water in it.
I put some RTV in the hole, reinstalled the pump and the leak was gone.
Its been fine now for a couple of years.

I had a hairline crack in one.

The small filter nipple thing that the washer pump sits in is a common culprit. The o-ring seal wears out and the fluid leaks out at the point where the pump fits in. Much cheaper than replacing the pump if the pump is not broken.

Just replace the one in my X. Pumping was leaking. If it is really cold outside wait until you get a day where the temp is above 60F. Cold makes plastic parts more brittle and you liable to break something else.
