Looking forward to the codes. Hopefully screen caps too.

Good call I will see if I can get screen caps and then have Neil send to my email, if not I will take as much info as I can.

looks like a pretty reasonable listing to repair modules, guy seems to really stand behind his work:

BMW ABS DSC Module Repair Service 5 and 7 Series x5 0265950002 0265950004 | eBay

If you replace your DSC module, keep this thread handy in case you run into problems.

EDIT: Just so I don't scare you, maybe its too late, this should only be a problem if you end up REPLACING the module not if you repair yours.

Definitely going to try the repair to my existing module if I can as I'm a firm believer in electrical engineers coming up with solutions to problems and before I spend double or triple the money on a new module plus the time for dealer to code it, I would like to see if I can take what I have and make it better than when it was new (my same principle applies for cluster repair vs. replacement)

Will post up this evening my findings thanks all for help so far!

There are companies that will rebuild the module for you, no need to buy a new one of those $700-800 parts.

Hi Ricky B, I am having the same problem with my 4.6is, I just got a estimate from BMW for $1725 to do the job, My friend [Dave the owner]at Motor Works West gave me a price of $900 plus tax for a new unit and programming...............he is in Wyckoff NJ , he only works on BMW, I am dropping mine off next Monday.
He rebuilt the heads on the engine last year great shop.........
Your traction control is off right now so the X5 is not driving by the computer,as soon as You fix the ABS DSC the X5 will drive like a champ, and the unit probably been off for sometime.
