e39 m5 seats

How different are the brackets and has anyone got them to work? I have as set available to me for cheap and I'm considering getting them and redoing the interior. I like my comforts but really loved the m5 seats in my friends m5.

I searched a bit and couldn't find a definitive answer.

Not sure about the E39 seats but E46 are direct swap. And why not measuring your friend seats and see if the holes and the rack rails are the same.

E46 seats won't work on an E39. E46 seats will work in an E53. So I'd assume E39 M5 seats are not going to fit in the E53. My E39 M5 seats feel considerably bigger than the E53 seats.

Hit up FMU, Olek... they installed them in Project X.

^ great advice. Physically the seats aren't that much bigger but from what I understood its the bases that are different. The seat harness needs to be customized but that's relatively easy to do. I hope they are the sports seats that you were looking at. The lux seats are a little too much for the X5 interior.

These blue-center M5 seats would look INSANE on your 4.8...
